He shares this attribute with a girl in London who is the only female to hold the title but as there was a special collaboration they were invited to writer for, Darran is the only one who entered so holds the record for the most consecutive entries into poetryrivals books. Sadly they've discontinued their service so his record will unlikely be matched or threatened.

QUESTION
Do you still write?
ANSWER
Not really as much now. I did find enormous success in 09-12 but then I took a huge back step when I didn't make the 5th annual publish and for me it was a time to take a back step and let everyone else have a shot at it so effectively I retired from competing and although I do write the odd time, I try and write now for an event or something that annoys me, best way to get my feelings aired.
QUESTION
Has your writing been recognised publicly to non writers?
ANSWER
Yes I wrote a poem in 2017 about drink driving and sent it to the RSA (Road Safety Authority) and they were impressed and wanted my permission to use it in their online campaign which is something I duly accepted. I also donated one of my poems many years ago called 'Life' to the Freedom Writers Foundation which is an organisation I've followed and liked for many years and I feel the purpose they're promoting is so beneficial and isn't been truly recognised which saddens me but I'm hoping that will change one day. I've yet to meet Erin who started it but anyone who is familiar with the 2007 film based on her time in Woodrow will know what I mean.
QUESTION
Will you write again?
ANSWER
I'll dip into it but my competitive days are gone. Once your name is out there, there's no need to overemphasis your name, there's a proper time to take a back seat and let others make their way to where you're at and I'd be always on hand to encourage people to never give up and to be able to express their true feelings. Ok writing isn't also the solution but if it's one thing I've learnt in life, words are more powerful when written then yelled across at someone.
QUESTION
Who or what inspires you?
ANSWER
Many things inspire me. Many people inspire me. Not always the rich and famous but the people who impact people on a daily basis be it someone who goes around helping people or people who are out there serving their real purpose. Growing up as the youngest of 3, my parents never gave us all what we wanted, they gave us what we needed, an education, food, a roof over our heads, love and support. I never tell them how much I appreciate how much they've done for all of us and I don't feel it's something you can just pat them on the back and say thanks for, it takes a lot more than that.
QUESTION
Who would you compare yourself to?
ANSWER
There's many people I'd like to compare myself to but they're all leaders of their own generations and I think it's a huge call for me to compare myself to them but I admire what John D. Rockefeller did, I'm a huge fan of how Steve Jobs changed what we have in our pockets be it the iPod or smartphones. The days of waking around with the big Walkman and about 4 tapes in our pockets well left us and had the iPod not been invented, I think the MP3 player would still be the in thing but we'd all be bored of them now. I was also inspired by Paul Walker who did what he could not just for his fans or his daughter but for the people who suffered. I'm a huge fan or ROWW (reach out worldwide) and I would love to work helping them one day.
QUESTION
Who inspires you closer to home?
ANSWER
I think my family have a huge influence. I'm an uncle of 4, a father of one and very close to all cousins on both sides of the family and they've always been my biggest fans and they're hugely influential in my daily life. I might not see family everyday or every week or even chat to them all the time but for me I've comfort knowing that I can call them at any stage and have a proper chat be it about rugby, parenting or someone's upcoming birthday, it's always amazing knowing I've a family there to talk to.
QUESTION
What do you do to pass the time?
ANSWER
I've a varying range of interests. Currently it's the Rubik's cube and I get given out to for playing with this 'toy' which for me provides solace, it's more of the challenge of working how it works, how to solve it and working out how it has so many combinations. I also enjoy walking loads. I'm known to just leave the house and go for an 8 mile walk or just heading to shops that are far away but I leave the car at home so I can just go there and be alone. Sometimes it's great to just vent frustration of the day by a good walk, it beats going to the pub or going wild somewhere.
I also enjoy going for a good drive too or visiting friends and going for a drive with them. Sometimes it's old work colleagues I go to and we drive remembering the places we might have gone to when we all worked together, other times I might go to friends houses and game which is another thing I do to pass the time but I'm not a YouTube paid star so I don't game that much.
When I have time to be with my daughter then is my favourite time of the week. I put the phone down, i go for a drive with her, take her to the beach or to the playground and it's time I really relish and adore. I sometimes take her to see her cousins which is great as nothing pleases me more than seeing her enjoy herself as much as she can.
QUESTION
Can you solve the Rubik's cube?
ANSWER
Not yet. I can do the 2x2 in sub 30 which is good but then there's people in competition who can solve it in sub 1 which is incredible. One day I'll be like that but it's like anything, it's all about practice and putting in the time.
QUESTION
What's a busy day and what's a quiet day for you?
ANSWER
I'm a strange character when it comes to a busy day. I can get so busy I'm never near my phone, I'm constantly on the go, I'm the type who won't sit down and doesn't want to sit down and then there's times I don't want to get up once I sit down and I just open the iPad and do research or some study somewhere along the line on another gap I've spotted and I sometimes then won't be heard from for ages as I'm taking notes or making drawings for some prototypes and then I'm trying to work out puzzles just to take a break away from study. Then on a quiet day, I like nothing more than to not go near my phone or iPad and just get my iPad and go for a long walk be it a 3 mile circle of where I live or an 8 mile stroll about. Sometimes I'll meet friends in town for lunch and walk in and then about town, meet them, walk around for another hour or so and maybe stop in bewleys for a cupa and then walk home. I take my 10,000 step daily goal seriously. The odd time I like to be me, where no one can messages me and I don't message them. I sometimes will just do some emails and then off I go for the day and if I get a response to some emails, I'll either answer straight away or whenever I feel like it but I'm always going through my inbox to make sure I've replied to all mails so I guess even when I'm quiet, I'm busy.
QUESTION
You're into your cars, if you were given an unlimited budget, what cars would you buy?
ANSWER
I'm a fan of many cars. Ferrari 458 and 488, laferrari and California would defo be in the driveway, a rolls Royce phantom for sure, lykan hypersport, Range Rover vogue, Bmw m5 and 7 series, Mercedes e class and s class, Porsche carrera, vw golf r and gti, Nissan GT-R, Lamborghini hurricane and aventador, and I'd prob has to have a Bugatti, just because I don't see them in Ireland. I'd prob mod my Toyota also, an auras needs some chrome spinners and a decent USB connection that doesn't interrupt the cool songs I love listening to and of course the nursery rhymes I put on for the boss when she's watching my every move. My daughter. Not my mother btw.
QUESTION
What car would you let your daughter in?
ANSWER
As much as driving is my passion, I don't want her to see her father as this careless adrenaline junkie so I've to be father perfect and say the Range Rover. Her safety is all I care about and I don't want to be labelled falsely for what I bring her around in. She's my angel and deserves respect so I'd never overlook that.
QUESTION
What song can you never get enough of?
ANSWER
I listen to songs I discover online a lot and I like the fast paced and slow action songs. I can't get enough of 'enjoy the ride' from Krewella or Kid Ink 'Ride out'. I also love listening to Gina Rodriquez with 'good lovin'
QUESTION
What's your thoughts on ireland and how could it be changed?
ANSWER
Ireland is a mixed bag. We have the greatest people and the worst decision makers. I mean, we look at college green, narrow the road going into the city by 1 lane and they want everyone to adore it. If a heart surgeon blocks an artery to someone's heart, it's lethal damage but the solution to a problem is often make it worse. Ireland could change in many ways. Offering free parking to people intending to use public transport but there's only carparks that charge by the day or hour and no offence but how is that going to persuade a car user to ditch the car and use the Lucas, dart or a bus when they have a space in town? I think ireland copies too much from other nations. Like the penalty point system was brought in for dangerous driving, now you can get points on your licence if your headlight isn't working or momentarily parked in a bad spot. I mean, where's the sense in that? The UK brought that in and of course, we copy it. If the British government all resigned tomorrow, I suspect it wouldn't be long before we'd follow suit.
QUESTION
What would you bring in to replace the penalty point system?
ANSWER
A proper fine where as you get a 10% leniency if you go over the speed limit but for every 1km over the limit you exceed, it's a €10 fine so if you're caught doing 50 in a 30 zone, you then have a €150 fine rather than €80 and 3 points and then your insurance goes up.
QUESTION
What TV shows do you watch?
ANSWER
I'm a weird nut when it comes to tv shows. I'll watch Macgyver, Hawaii five - 0, the odd time NCIS LA but I'm right at home then watching At your Service or Room to Improve or Dragons Den.
QUESTION
What do you think of the new Macgyver?
ANSWER
I really enjoy it. Ok we don't see the usual Macgyver fun like we grew up with in the 80s and 90s but there's a new twist on it, Jack is more prominent, you have Riley who could hack anything, then you have the one guy who no one listens to and he has the best idea. Bozer reminds me of me. The ideas person who no one will acknowledge until it's too late.
QUESTION
Why are you a huge fan of the navy seals?
ANSWER
I guess I appreciate what they do and how they do it. I follow them a lot, their training, their regimes, their ability to do what they do. I sometimes wish I was a seal team 6 member or even in a film about them so I could train with them and learn the trades. I used to know an ex Army member from Romania who was always full of info on everything but we've lost touch over the years but he was the one who'd tell me the good side rather than just the disadvantages. I think I'm too late in my career to even want to look at them now or even training as I'd be away from the little angel too much and that would kill me.
QUESTION
Is it true you once cracked all the codes in the building you were working in one day when on patrol?
ANSWER
Yes but to clarify they were all on the basement level, I didn't try the other 7 floors. But it is true. If you can get behind enemy lines, they don't make it too hard for you.
QUESTION
You're described as cryptic, hard to work out and have come up with a 350+ code to combat cyber security, what inspires you to think opposite to everyone else?
ANSWER
I'm the person who is looking for the difference in everything. Like if I see a wall and there's 10 people also looking at it, they're looking at the height, can they climb over it, I'm looking for the alternative way around it, I'm looking for the brick that's out of place, I'm looking for the different piece of cement that was used so as soon as I see an obstacle, I'm trying to solve getting around it the obscure way. Also the 350 digit code is only 1/5400 of the answer just to clarify things.
QUESTION
What do you think of the 131 +?
ANSWER
I think it's a mess, a joke and unnecessarily here. I mean, in Ireland all our cars are marked by the year they were bought so you have 2012, 2010, whatever. Now you have to buy a car that lasts only 6 months, come July you can get your 182... I don't want to spend my hard earned cash on a half year old car, I don't go into Supermacs and ask for half a burger, I want the whole hog, the one that makes sense. In Ireland we've a great policy to encourage everyone to buy more cars, go into debt but satisfy the sales people, yet people are being urged to ditch the car, use public transport. I mean, does it even make sense to people not in Ireland? Ok the UK divided their cars in 2 slots, course we copy them, no surprise really.
QUESTION
What's your thoughts on Brexit?
ANSWER
I think it's like driving and the traffic light goes amber or red, you take the risk and break the light. You don't know the consequences but breaking the light seemed like a great idea, an irreversible decision if you cause damage to your family, to your car and whoever might have been impacted. That's my thoughts.
QUESTION
What's your favourite scary movie?
ANSWER
I'm banned from using that voice amongst some of my friends including my daughters mam but I love it. But if that was a genuine question, I don't have one.
QUESTION
How many voices can you do and any famous?
ANSWER
I think I can do about 8-9 voices. I don't highlight them much but I can obviously do that scary movie one, Jedward and Billy Connolly are two. Currently working on the taiseachs (Irish prime minister) but it needs practice.
QUESTION
Can you give us any idea of creations or inventions you have written down?
ANSWER
Not really, can't give the game away but I see things being different in the future so I guess I can give some thoughts on inventions. I think one day there will be hand sterilisers in all urinals so people won't always have to spread bacteria before they wash their hands. I think holograms will be huge around the world so if you're driving and going at an excessive speed, you'll be clocked by 2 cameras and then a hologram will display an image to make you slow down, it could be a cop hiding in the van saving lives or it could be someone crossing the road with kids, it could be a wild deer. It could be anything. No one will know if it's real or not. I think biometrics and retina scans will be huge in the next 2-3 years.
QUESTION
What security features do people overlook?
ANSWER
I think people don't take security as much as they should. I think people should all buy the 'Ring' doorbell so they can keep an eye on their house when they're away and another thing they all overlook is their email password. I think people have to be more obscure with their password so putting in something like a ; or ? Or * somewhere in their password is crucial. It's impossible for hackers to crack through that. Then again if they really want to secure websites and passwords, I will be developing my software to prevent people's details ever being compromised.
QUESTION
You've worked on both sides of movie cameras, who was the best and most memorable actor or actress you've worked with?
ANSWER
Well I worked with Julie Walters and James McAvoy who were great people. They stood out for their politeness and warm hearted approach to their coworkers.
QUESTION
Are you related to anyone famous and who if so, have you ever met them?
ANSWER
Can I say me? My dads cousin I'd like to say is famous as he's sailed many voyages over the Atlantic and wherever else he finds water but Maureen O'Hara who is a second cousin of my grandfather on my mams side. I was privileged to meet her in 2012 during a family event and got some pictures with her. If you can't call someone who shook the hand of Hitchcock famous, who is famous then?
QUESTION
Would you ever go back into acting and if you could do a remake of any film, what one and why?
ANSWER
I'd love to do a remake of Vanishing point. I'd love to be driving the dodge through the back roads, evading the cops. There should be an Irish version. Except instead of a charger or challenger, a Honda 50 through the back fields of Killarney. Think Hollywood would love that one.
QUESTION
Duel or Vanishing point?
ANSWER
I'm on the fence, love them both but Vanishing point. The original.
QUESTION
You've discovered a huge flaw within the banking system, why haven't you told anyone?
ANSWER
They don't talk to us, why would I? I mean, they could let me discuss their faux pas with me but I'm no one, I'm not a multimillionaire, I'm not a politician, I'm just a single father with ideas. They don't want that. Why would they? If you ran a huge industry and an outsider had a solution, would you give them the time of day? I reckon and bet not.
QUESTION
Does it effect bankers and consumers?
ANSWER
Consumers sadly but it is what it is.
QUESTION
Could you make online trading and banking safer?
ANSWER
Of course, I have the solution but sure, I'm no one, why would someone give me a punt? I only see what ever other person out there needs. So either I get it to market soon and make online trading better and banking safer or else accidents keep happening, it's not like I'm not trying but people don't want to go at a pace that's crucial. Go at a slow, snails pace so more accidents happen.
QUESTION
You've discovered a way to make electric cars last longer without needing to be charged, why haven't you sold the concept?
ANSWER
Have to create it first. Once again I need investment, I'm not going to buy and engine and bring it to my bedroom and dirty the place. I need help, investment, space, people to act on their promises. I'm not looking for a needle in a haystack, I'm looking for interested parties who don't want to timewaste and lie to me about their happenings.
QUESTION
You've a creation to make smartphones protected more when students are in school and limits their usage. When will that be coming to market?
ANSWER
I actually have two but I'll have that released when people give me the time of day to actually proceed like I've been promised so many times.
QUESTION
What countries would you like to visit and why?
ANSWER
Cities and countries. Dubai, Monaco for the Grand Prix, Miami, Hawaii, Bahamas, Barbados and I'd love to go to Vegas again. Mexico, Panama, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina.
QUESTION
How do you get on with your daughters mother after court?
ANSWER
That was a touchy time. It wasn't what I wanted to do but I had no choice. Anytime I visited my daughter, I was confined to this small space, couldn't take her out to the garden without being questioned, I'd be promised one thing and another would happen. I wasn't even listed as a guardian and as my ex was dodgy health, it's up to me to provide the life for her rather than anyone else. That's why I was thinking long term and thinking of what our daughter needed.
QUESTION
Do you think Apple has lost its way?
ANSWER
Yes most definitely. I mean, they have these EarPods. You get off a train and someone knocks it out of your ear and the stampede behind you stand on it, your monies gone, wasted. Apple wins. Of course I have a perfect solution, with some wires but a clever idea but I'm no one, Tim Cook wouldn't even look at me. Why would you, just the ideas person, no one Rich or famous.
QUESTION
What's the perfect world for you?
ANSWER
A world where initiatives were topped off with incentives, a place where councils organised nights in community halls for people so they didn't roam the streets at night meeting the wrong groups and starting a new life as a wanted criminal, a world where people get heard and ideas get acted on. A world where people don't get punished for the right things, a life where everyone has respect for anyone regardless of who they are, what religion or past they have.
QUESTION
What's your favourite film?
ANSWER
Fast 5. That's the top one. I've afew but if it's a great comedy or a film with hot cars and great car chases, I want a front row seat.
QUESTION
What's your favourite quote of all time?
ANSWER
I've two. Of course in the first fast and furious Paul Walkers line 'Dude I almost had you'.. I quote that a lot on wordfued and words with friends when someone hammers me. I love also in Freedom Writers 'but to gain respect, you have to give it'
QUESTION
Ever been in a police escort?
ANSWER
Does a ford escort driven by the cops count? Joking, no I haven't. I'm the only member of my family who hasn't and I relish the thought one day of being in one.
QUESTION
What's the one thing you'd like to see in sport?
ANSWER
A joint World Cup bid for the 2030 FIFA soccer competition. I can see Uruguay looking for it 100 years on since the first World Cup as they hosted it but it would be nice to see the Republic of Ireland and Northem Ireland hosting it jointly. We have the stadiums, we have the right people to bid, we just need to prepare.
QUESTION
If you could own your own franchise, what would it be?
ANSWER
I've afew. Mcdonalds, Supermacs, Dunkin Donuts, I'd love to own a cinema chain where it's run for the people rather than for the profits. I'd love to own Pizza Max too and build that up to be one of the greatest chains ever.
QUESTION
What makes you different from everyone else?
ANSWER
I visualise the future, I see what people need, want and should have in a year or two years time. I see what's wrong with the world and I want to fix it but I'm the unluckiest person going. I have the ideas but no one backs me, will entertain me or see what I mean.
QUESTION
How can you make things different in Ireland?
ANSWER
I can make it in many ways. I don't want to have a country where you get crucified for doing simple things but I'd like to have digital signs rather than road signs so it actually has information for tourists rather than just Galway this way, that doesn't tell me where Mayo is or Roscommon. I want something in place where getting around is better. I want to see more community based things happening, kids off the streets, smoking around kids banned, I'm not looking to build a rocket out of wooden pallets. I'd also love to see the Liffey drained. Cleaned, make Dublin look like this glistening wonderland where we take pride in everything around us.
QUESTION
What songs remind you mostly of your daughter?
ANSWER
I have three. When I first heard I was going to be a father, I was traveling with my mam and Paul Simons song 'father Daughter' came on the radio. At that stage I hadnt told my family I was going to be a father, so I savoured the moment quietly to myself. Calvin Harris 'Pray to God' is another one as I put it on a CD for my ex and anytime it came on, she'd be kicking to her hearts content from the inside and the most memorable is a song called 'One day' from a band called matisyahu. She was one day old and I played that song as it was the first song she'd hear in full. I just starred at her in my arms and I couldn't believe my luck.
QUESTION
What songs inspire you?
ANSWER
Kid Ink as mentioned before with Ride Out. That's defo one. Eye of the tiger, many others but one is the main theme from Freedom Writers called 'A Dream'
QUESTION
What are Manchester United missing?
ANSWER
Chicharito. I'm a huge fan. They lack power up front. I mean, they got rid of Van Persie and Chicharito. And replaced them by unknowns.. it's like turning up to a dog track with a cat or turning up to a soccer game with tutus.
QUESTION
If José gave you the choice to buy players, any budget and why, who would you choose?
ANSWER
Seamus Coleman, Chicharito, Van Persie, Hakan Calhanoglu, Marco Fabian, he'd do well behind chicharito and van Persie. I'd love messi or Ronaldo but they're the obvious choices.
QUESTION
Is Van Persie not passed it?
ANSWER
He's 9 days older than me, if I ain't passed it, he defo ain't.
QUESTION
What's next for you, in security, in life, in truth.
ANSWER
I want to help those around me, build on their ideas, not be delayed by people who say they'll help and do nothing. I'm looking at starting a security consulting business seeing as I spent years in the industry and I'm a hindrance now with friends, I go into anywhere and I spot where cameras are missing or spot where the flaws are and I want to point them out. I guess one never fully turns their back on a business or industry they spent so long in. I want to then create the next generation of technology and be remembered for being the visionary I see myself as. I also want to organise poker tournaments to draw in funds to help the charities and set up a business which will prove to the world that Ireland doesn't just adopt and inherit innovation, we grow it. I'd finally love to get my stunt drivers licence and a F1 licence and maybe a pilots licence if I can fit that in somewhere.
QUESTION
How will you go about the poker tournaments?
ANSWER
Well I'm in talks with a casino currently and they're ready to entertain me when I'm ready but I guess when I work so many days per week, I just never get around to it so I'm hoping I can initially start with something else and be able to dedicate more time to this than I currently am. And I want create the biggest and most creative event anyone has ever seen or heard about.
QUESTION
What does the official launch involve?
ANSWER
Rubik's cubes, lego, dominoes, plastic balls and alot more and many Guinness world records smashed. If someone can work out from there what I'm planning, fair play as I'm mixing different trades which is something I like to do. I call it a complicated mix and match.
QUESTION
How does it make you feel when you've an idea, you need help on it, no one backs you and a company with greater power and the resources come up with the same idea and make it a mega success?
ANSWER
That's the story of my life, that's why I never tell people my plans or ideas because ultimately, I'm destined for failure if I tell people. A lot of people don't see my ideas as realistic or achievable but there's always the person who has the vision to see what other people can't and that's me. I mean, you look at every company out there, give me an hour in their offices and I know what they're missing and how to solve it but as stated, I'm no one to anyone so who will listen to me? Of course it annoys me to see other people succeed when I had a vision but people don't want to back me on something and I'll still create something new everyday, one day they'll realise that things should have happened a long time ago and not never and then we'd be reading my life story on Amazon and every bookshop in the world but for now, it is what it is.
QUESTION
Your parents have recently accepted an offer on your family home, does that depress you and why?
ANSWER
There's a big fat ugly sold sign there. It's depressing, I wanted my life sorted well before this, I wanted money to buy their house and to have the same routine for my nieces and nephews and ultimately my little girl to come back to but once again, family didn't prevail and it hurts a lot simply because I had the vision and the where with to get finances to make this dream a reality but it's me, no one wants to back success, no one wants to listen, everyone has their own visions and it's a slow but non up to date one but it seems logical to them and all they've to do is think outside the box and they'd see something new and exciting and they could give me a chance to prove it and they'd be shocked and amazed at what can transpire but they see their own way, their own vision and own aspect and it rips a family apart, separates us all when all one had to do was listen to family and not what the sales person had to say and it would keep a family together and bide time better. Now it's a Rush job to get something cleared out when all they had to do was wait extra weeks and not go through estate agents and they could have had their family in one place still and satisfied everyone but it's like everything, I buy something and my parents get rid of it after they give out to me for buying it so basically it's throwing money away and then they tell me if I want something, I can replace it. So basically I'm buying things twice for the same thing, makes no sense to anyone except those who don't want to listen and it doesn't please me at all. Do you choose family or do you choose your own personal desires? I choose family because family is all that we've got when we weigh it up.
QUESTION
What's google, yahoo!, LinkedIn, twitter missing?
ANSWER
They're missing leadership, power, innovation and respect. I'm always on LinkedIn, getting these invites from LinkedIn asking me to invite people to join the website but then when I go to add a connection, they won't let me so they're saying basically, hey, invite your friends but don't expect us to allow them make business contacts. Googles missing a lot, I think they overpush their ads too much. They want people to view content, let them view content. It's not a game of who sees the most ads, it's about seeing what you want. I think it could be tidied up a lot more and organised in a way where people can find what they're looking for rather than pages upon pages about jargon before they finally get the answer. That could be cut out. Yahoo needs to challenge google and I know it will as I reckon I know who will aim to purchase it in the next 18 months. Twitter needs to up its game in terms of showing its users who is boss. I think the whole 'following' someone seems more like a stalking term and people might feel abit more weary about using it because it's offering the wrong choose of words. It's like having a sentence where words are mixed up to give a completely different context.
QUESTION
What companies would you love to own?
ANSWER
I've a few. My list grows. I'd love to own EA sports and actually show them what a soccer fan wants, like indoor pitches, teams from all over the world and then when you go to do a drop in game, the captain can get rid of the showoff person who thinks playing soccer is all about showing off skills when it's really a team game and everyone puts in equal share, it's not a talent competition. There's so much I'd love to improve and make it a soccer game for the fans and not something mediocre. I'd love to own rockstar games. They've lost their way abit and I can see what it's missing and how to improve it so that's two. I've many more which I keep a list to myself but I'm sure when I start making it to the top, i might be brought on as a bored member and asked for feedback that will be heard and will be adhered to.
QUESTION
Is it true you own a domain name from an established company? And if so, would you sell it?
ANSWER
Not for sale. I don't care who has the chequebook open and how many zeros are there. I've owned it for nearly two years and if the company want it, it's for rent. If not, well sadly it's still mine and going nowhere.
QUESTION
Let's talk about your family, your ex partner, your stance on life now, where is it at?
ANSWER
How can we not talk about family when family is all that we got. I think we know that line well. My family have always supported me no matter what but never see my vision on things, they're the expert on everything out there and I know nothing when it comes to certain things. They don't share the ideas or opinions I have so I'm the one with the ideas who has to sit in the corner and allow them think they know about every industry is out there. For me, I've an idea, I'm told I've no qualifications on the issue but then you don't need a qualification to have an idea. You only need a brain and that's all. When I quote anyone, I'm told I only hear about the famous people. Well if they want to write a book on the non so famous and make them famous, then I'll have heard about everyone. Sure I'm an ideas guy, the architect but not the builder. I didn't have to go to be a master to have a vision. Ex partner is a sore subject a lot. I mean she's had a lot going on with her health and no matter what, I've a daughter with her so she'll always be a part of my life, regardless of who gets involved with me or not. I'm not going to forget her ever and people who enter my life must know that I've a daughter with someone with an extremely rare health condition so no matter what, she's a part of my life regardless of the past. For me, I always wanted my business to be up and running, making money before my daughter was born and yet people think it's a joke to delay me as much as they can as if moving on isn't part of the deal, it's their way and not the real way. It hurts me in away as my ex could be hospitalised at any stage and be there for ages or never make it out of it and I want to have a house and a job I can work from home for my daughter, she's the one I want to be around, no one else and if I have to sell everything to get one thing that will benefit her like a house, an education, roof over her head, I'll do it. I want to create the next big things in technology and I want help getting there but I want to make sure anything earned goes to making sure she has a happy but not spoilt childhood. She deserves a place she can have her own room, to be able to go to the top schools and get the best education, everyday I'm working towards that and I'll continue to do so. I need action now, not to,orrow or never. Work starts here.
QUESTION
What scares you?
ANSWER
Knowing one day I'll wake up and my daughters mother has died due to her illnesses and no matter rifts between us, it will rip me apart, we share a bound together than both of us should realise and that's our daughter. We're both part of her life and we have to keep all lines of communication open as one day I know I'll be fighting this on my own and for now, it's a team effort. That scares me. It keeps me awake at night and all I want is for our daughter to be catered for by me if the unfortunate ever does happen to her mam.

QUESTION
Why do you do work emails to potential work contacts at weekends?
ANSWER
Checking their response time, to see if they shut off at the weekends or not. If they reply and it's more than 2 words, I'm happy to remember them for their work ethic, if they couldn't be bothered, then how serious are they about business?
If you want to make it in life, it doesn't stop at 5pm everyday. I like to always check their response time, see how on the ball they are. I appreciate they have families, kids, time to spend with them but they all check their emails, I do and I respond no matter what. It's like when I message on LinkedIn, I see if they reply to me, primarily because I can see how important their business is to them. If they reply, I see them as potential work contacts, if they don't bother, well, why should I bother? Ultimately, there's 86,400 seconds in a day. To reply on LinkedIn or an email takes somewhere between 25 and 120 seconds. No one has an excuse for saying they've no time. They do have time, you're just not their priority. That's the difference.
QUESTION
If you could be stuck on a dessert island with any 3 people and/or any 3 things, what would they be and why?
ANSWER
3 people. Wow, who is ever prepared for this question. I think Wayne Brady for sure, he's quite talented and really brings a unique quality to the table. I think a handy man for sure, I think Macgyver for sure, I mean Richard Dean Anderson probs would love a vacation on a remote island with a crazy Irish guy who would probably be writing codes in the sand and on trees if they existed. I think a third person would have to be someone fluent in Spanish, maybe a nice Latina actress like Kristin Herrera or Genesis Rodriquez so I can learn Spanish and I know the other two are too old for them so I'd have a better chance with them. Ha.. ah someone who would be able to pull their weight and come up with a proper solution so I reckon I'd have to go with someone I've respect for and admire for their life qualities but I'm giving no names away.
What three things would I want? I'm assuming water is probably out the window as that's an obvious choice so my Swiss Army knife, it's really opened doors for me.. no it hasn't obviously but it's something one would need, a pedometer so I could get to 10,000 steps a day, in fairness, it's not like I'm going to get up to much else and a pen and paper so I can keep a diary of everything I've done and can write out my escape plan in a cryptic manner so if it ever fell into the wrong hands, it wouldn't make sense to anyone bar me.
QUESTION
It's reported in the Irish media that Post Offices might soon be closing due to a shortage and a lack of need, any quick solution in your opinion?
ANSWER
To be honest, it does pain me when I hear this action is happening really. I think to keep some in business, they could be used to take lottery and betting slips but not give cash or winnings out so it reduces security threats. They can still operate as giving welfare and pensions, but it makes them specialists in other areas and the gaming chiefs could offer to pay some of the wages to cut some costs because let's face it, people in rural areas have to travel great distances to place bets or do the lottery or register applications, why not use the post offices for this?
QUESTION
What's the one thing people should be remembering you for?
ANSWER
Don't judge or you'll be judged. It's simple really, we all get judged. We're judged on our walk, our clothes sense, our appearance, an answer we gave to something or even simply if we produced a good meal or not so don't criticise someone unless you've plausible reason to.
QUESTION
Finally, who has made an impression on you in recent times most?
ANSWER
There was a lady I was seeing from England and I was her first proper person if I'm even that since her marriage ended and she was special to me but I think not everything went her way, I didn't want to chat every night and she thought there was something wrong if I didn't want to chat and then she said if we had kids, I wouldn't get my alone time with my current daughter, she said if the other kids wasted to go with me, they had to. For me, I fought for time with just my daughter, if someone can't accept my time with her is my time with her, that's if. You don't fight for independence only to open the door straight away and tell people it's a free bar.
I mean, she's left a lasting impression, every time I stop off at the Sheep Shop in Leenaun in Galway, I remember being there with her last year and the smile on her face as she bought gifts for her sister and family back home. Her cheeky smile and tears as she'd weep for her father when he was in and out of hospital is something I'll remember from her. I wanted to see how things would go but she couldn't understand why I wouldn't move to England to be with her. I told her no matter what my little angel came first, nothing's coming between that and nothing ever will. That's where a conflict of interest was formed and it would have worked with some tweaking but only my side was prepared to make changes so sadly it's not a runner. I've always left the door open for her but sadly, she's walked the opposite way. People like that stand out for their positiveness.
Please support his cause and make dreams become reality because when people back him, he'll make sure he continues to do good for everyone around him.
