Dear Readers;
As the most awesome Latin American filmmaker I must express how gratified I feel every July the Fourth. I do not live in the U.S. yet but, my ideals are the same as those that you could find in any film starring or produced by Adam Sandler: excellent social values, fierce intellectual independence, political clarity! Three characteristics that make his movies great ones! Peru, the country where I was born, is a little lousy Latin American country where few people (my admirers) are as genuinely outstanding as myself. The intellectual mediocrity promoted by the left leaning Catholic church is a real shame, as much as the fascistic policy developed by the right wing of the same Catholic church. The politicians take advantage of the superstitious people who pretend to be religious but do not honor the fact that they are animals created by a Higher Intelligence. Instead of accepting their animal essence, the Catholics and even the Protestants pretend to be something else. The result is the current mediocrity that can be found in the media, the government, the arts, and the academic world. Only from time to time, wise people like Susy Díaz, an amazing actress, becomes a congresswoman by showing her buttocks in public during this political campaign in order to be remembered. At these times, the bestiality inherent to all these Catholics and Protestants become evident but, anyway, the Peruvian society doesn't change in order to turn the basic impulses into productive ones. This is a pity at which I laugh! Then, I remember that there are great filmmakers like Adam Sandler and I feel grateful due to the fact that there is a United States of America, a country where greed, passion, and lust for life can be turned into profits. Thanks America! Happy 4th of July, 2019!
